The heartache finally hit me today, an hour or so before I left work.  I held it together, and it passed quickly enough, but damned if I'm not hurting right now.

There's a compounding factor.  One of my cousins was shot and killed Thursday morning, in what is starting to look like a shootout with a co-worker.  Steve was always very kind to Matt and I when we were growing up, treating us more like welcome visitors and friends, instead of young critters trying to tag along.  Funeral arrangements are still being made, so I'll probably be making a daytrip to West Virginia sometime in the next few days.

Going to WV for a funeral, instead of to Chattanooga for wings&ribs, or Newport/Cincy/Dayton/Louisville for fish and animals and planes and all that good stuff.

Dammit.  Dammit, dammit, dammit.

Thanks, man. Never rains but it pours, y'know?

Oh, I know. Here's hoping it works the other way too, later on.

Also, I don't know if it's common practice State-side or anything, but I found it kind of odd that they included the home addresses of both men in the newspaper article above.

We'll see how things shake out.

Printing addresses is the norm here - it's an artifact of the muckraking era.
