Ralph Nader's running for President.  Again.  I wonder if he ever got the thank-you card from Dubya for 2004.

Ran a Stargate SG-1 session last night.  I kinda phoned things in, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been.  Maybe Hell on Earth will go better next weekend.

Waiting now for a plumber to arrive.  Got some backflow issues with the shower;  I'm hoping he arrives in enough time that I don't have to miss Trinity this afternoon.

Nader? Really? Oy vey.

I admire the guy's spirit and all, but surely he has to realise that it's a lost cause. Why can't he just follow Al Gore and actually do something productive, as it were.

I'd love to see Nader's crusade towards viability of more than two parties in the U.S. come to be, but he's really not the guy to launch the revolution.

I didn't think the SG-1 session was all that bad, considering how horribly off-track we got. And how bad the environment was at times.

You know me, man - I'm never happy with how a game I run comes off.

But, yeah, yowling children and their keepers ... bleah.

Honestly, the kids were just being kids. You know I consider most larval humans just above, well, larval insects, but those were generally keeping their misbehavior to a tolerable level. I thought the parenting coulda been a lot smoother, though.

You caught my knee-jerk reaction, and thanks for doing that.

Yes. Dear God, yes, that couple really needs to do a better job at being parents. Like, maybe getting a sitter, or trading off stay-home-and-watch-the-kids duty.

Perhaps even sucking it up and hosting the game at their place, so the kids can play with their own toys in their own rooms, and get put to bed at a decent hour. I'd say a good half to two-thirds of their agitation was just from being bored and tired.

Now you're getting into the realm of people taking responsibility, and that's just crazy talk.

I feel for the kids, though. Being dragged off to a room full of strangers, given no way to reasonably entertain themselves, and having to deal with a yelling mother ... yeah. That can't be any fun at all.

And on top of that, being saddled with the name "Rookwin."

Yeah, that's the kind of thing that gets the house burned down with the parents still in it.
