I do have one small gripe. The mouse's connector cable is a little short. I'm going to pick up a wireless mouse soon to alleviate this.
I haven't yet activated the 30-day trial of iWork. Once I get the Flags assignment off my desk, I'm going to take a look at Pages and see how it functions as a desktop publishing application.
Speaking of, I'm making too-slow (but fairly steady) progress on Flags. The introduction's complete (I cry your pardon, dear readers, as it is in fact Game Fiction), and most of the other sections are at least half-completed. I expect to complete the alternate versions section tonight.
Back at UK, I was the only person in the particular circle of people I hung out with who wasn't a fan of The Professional. For whatever reason, I just didn't like it at all. So, a few days ago, I watched it again, just to see if I'd seen it on a bad day or something. I guess I had, because I really dig on this movie now.

Date: 2008-07-01 05:28 pm (UTC)I really should look into proper desktop publishing programs, but I'm having far too much fun with Office 2007. It's nice and easy, and I get a fairly decent looking result (like the Free HEX product) with minimal hassle.
I don't think I'll be moving to a Mac anytime soon, either. I know they're great for that sort of things and all, but I'm happy with Windows.

Date: 2008-07-01 05:57 pm (UTC)My longsuffering Toshiba laptop has a full version of PageMaker 6.5 on it, and while that's an older layout application, it's more than capable of doing the jobs I'm going to need. Using InDesign here at work, though, has really hooked me on that.
