Made it to visitation Wednesday night, but was unable to get free for the funeral yesterday.  Matt was supposed to get there to show the flag.

Man, family events like that are just plain weird.  It does show that the point of a visitation is to support the survivors much more than revere the dead.  I did little more than exchange contact information with a couple of cousins and catch up a little bit.  And listen to another cousin do his level best to engage everyone around him in some kind of dialogue about what's going on in their life so he can point out how much better things are with him.  *headdesks*

Picked up Erin from Berea last night.  Of course, she has to go back today, so I'm loaning her the Mustang for the trip.

Today, we have learned, by way of a press release from Gubner Fletcher's office, that Gannett is going to consolidate its three dozen or so call centers into 3 or 4 big ones.  One of these is going to be located in Louisville.  What is Gannett calling these complaint hotline headquarters?  Centers of Excellence.

In addition to being a terribly stupid motivational-poster-worthy name for a facility, it's just flat surprising to hear the words "excellence" and "Gannett" in the same sentence.
