Love her Like Me
Jan. 15th, 2018 07:57 pmAfter a week with the thing, I'm quite pleased with the Apple Watch. It's not a life-changing tool or anything, but it is a handy little accessory. The generic Sport Band isn't great - it does the job, but it's not very attractive, and the clasp is clunky. There's no shortage of third-party bands out there.
The cold abated for a few days, then came roaring back. Winter storm on Thursday night, cold rain overnight and sub-freezing temperatures with snow and ice and sleet on Friday. Friday night gaming was scrubbed. I stayed inside until Sunday afternoon's Armada meetup.
More snow last night, mostly dry and powdery; traffic turned it to slush. I had to drive through it when I left for Liberty this morning - pre-dawn. I-64 was messy until Shelbyville, 151 and 127 were dry all the way to the farm. Dropped off the Canyon and picked up the Mariner. Had lunch with Mom&Dad, heard more horror stories re: Miranda. Headed back to Louisville while there was still some daylight. Ran into the new wave of snow around Harrodsburg, and it worsened as the drive progressed. Wet blowing snow all along I-64, salt and plow trucks in both directions, and even one on Dutchmans Lane when got back into Bowman.
Now, home safe and watching the season finale of The Gifted. Flipped a coin to decide between this and the back-from-a-break Supergirl and its guest appearance by members of the Legion of Super Heroes - that'll be streamed tomorrow evening. This glut of good comics-based TV has me hankering for a superhero game, darnit.
The 20th is my parents' wedding anniversary - their fiftieth. I'm proud of them, and just in awe. Universe knows that it hasn't been an easy road at times, but they've pulled through. As is their way, they're going to celebrate by themselves, specifically asking us to let them have their day.
