It's the first full day of Spring. Cool, maybe even a little bit chilly today, but such is March in the Ohio Valley. Winter will get in at least one more hit before we're done, probably a couple of cold days and sub-freezing nights. As anyone around here will readily remind you, we've had snow on Derby Day before - the sort of thing that's notable for its rarity, not any kind of reliable happening.

I saw Captain Marvel this afternoon. Heck of a good movie - filled in some more spaces in the history of the MCU. Brie Larson is fantastic - incredible screen presence, a sense of humor, real emotional delivery. She's got a great supporting cast, too. I found myself comparing her to Melissa Benoist on Supergirl. Both very pretty without being fashion-model beautiful; both with good senses of self; good writers and showrunners that let the character be angry without becoming some kind of caricature. Worth seeing, maybe seeing twice. It's got me even more excited about Endgame next month.

The NCAA basketball tournament started today, and that's exciting because it means that MLB's Opening Day is almost here. My Dodgers traded away a lot of talent, so I'm not expecting a third straight World Series appearance. Still, it's getting close to baseball season, and
that lifts my spirits.
