Gideon the Ninth and Harrow the Ninth were both darned good and darned weird. Lots of what-the-hell-is-this necromancy, Dad jokes, impressive swordplay, horrid monsters, and good stuff like that. Enjoyable reads.
I am tired tonight. The most tired I've been in an evening since not working evenings. The string of events: Battery went out on the Mariner yesterday morning - Lyft and housemate got me to and from work. Roll20 DCC game started last night - and the scheduling bot listed the wrong time zone, so what I thought would kick off at 8:30 instead got underway a little after 9:30. I was able to go until about 11:30, and did manage to go right to sleep. Heavy rain woke me up around 5:00AM, and I knew I wasn't going back to sleep. Easy day at work, got home, changed clothes, took the Canyon to the Niece's place (in the Highlands) to meet with Mom&Dad. Dinner was great, ordering experience was not. Got the Niece home and Mom&Dad onto I-64. Got home again, checked e-mail, saw a message from the Louisville Game Shop about a book I had ordered in the spam folder, went back to the Highlands to get the book, then to Speedway for fuel and Chase for some cash and now I'm on my couch and it is way past time for these comfortable but very heavy boots to go back under the bed.
Jesus Christ, it's September.
