According to Variety, Robert Downey, Jr., has been cast as Tony Stark in the upcoming Iron Man movie.  Wouldn't have thought about him for the role, but I do like it.

Having recently watched A Scanner Darkly I'm getting all sorts of weird mental images off this, but I think it could work. He'll be a slightly twisted Stark, but then that works.

And it's a WAY better choice than Tom Cruise ;)

He'll certainly be able to do Stark's alcoholism, if that winds up in the movie.

I still like Cruise for the role, but ... that man's crazy.
