Vote, that is. No protest votes this year or any such thing. No on KAWC condemnation, Newberry for Mayor, Keller for State Senate. A few others here and there, but those are my big choices.
My ballot didn't have a State Senate race--does Lexington have multiple districts?
As for Newberry, I looked over his website last week and was happy to find out I was actually voting for him rather than just against Isaacs.
I'd add Brown for council-at-large. He's the only one who voted against condemnation of the water company, so he's the only member who got my vote (I left the other two choices blank). I really like running water, and know how LFUCG handles most of its responsibilities.
For my District Councilman (3rd), I went with Don B. Pratt. Both of my candidates voted for water codemnation, but Pratt is at least against closing down Rose Street and Speed Bump Bombing my neighborhood. His ideas about posting the 10 Commandments in government buildings sealed the deal for me.
There are, I think, a half-dozen Senate districts here in Lexington.
I voted Brown, too, on the anti-condemnation stance. When I can drive past Forest and Woodland on Main Street and not have my Mustang wish it had my truck's suspension, I'll think about trusting my water supply to the city government.
Sweet, you're all actually exercising your democratic right. That's most reassuring to see. I'll be hitting the State-side news sites pretty hard when I get to work, it's going to be a VERY interesting night.
Most of the folks on my list are motivated, if not actually involved. There are train wrecks we want cleaned up.
And besides, as long as Bush is in power, every chance to vote might just be our last, so we want to do it while we can.
I'm out of here in about three hours. I will camp out with MSNBC and Comedy Central. I am also thinking hard about getting a pizza and/or buffalo wings and having a big ol' democracy party.

Pratt's stuff is a hoot. More power to him.
