Casing the Boat
Oct. 6th, 2008 08:29 amHokie-smokes, the Dodgers swept the Cubs. Phillies knocked out the Brewers - the first NLCS game is Thursday night. Normally, that's game night, but since we're moving this week's game to Tuesday, I'll get to watch the game! The AL Division games are still going on - Tampa Bay and Boston are both up 2 games to 1.
Saturday was one of the best days I've had in a long while. Went to Louisville with
elalyr and
tegyrius for the Saint James Court Art Show. We picked up my niece, too. Lots of beautiful things to look at (and make me wish I had about five figures of disposable income). Some good people-watching. Crowds started getting too thick for our liking in mid-afternoon, so we headed out. Went to the Apple store, and The Niece played with an iPod Touch for most of the time we were there. She was quite taken with it - kept repeating "This is it. This is all I want for Christmas." Oh, dear heavens. It got worse (or better) when we went to The Louisville Game Shop - she asked lots of questions about the games Colin had on display, and about the different kinds of dice. She was quite adorable. I guess it makes sense, though - she's about the same age I was when I started gaming. We also hit the last Something To Do store, and a newly-opened games and comics store off of Bardstown (Roll of the Die, I think). Dinner at Impellizeri's - yay!
Sunday, not nearly so exciting, but still pretty terrific. Football and baseball for about 12 hours. Watched The Ninth Gate before all the sports. Worked on the upcoming Spycraft game; hopefully it'll be better than the one on the 28th.
Today, going to look at trains, I think.
And still another full day before going back to the office. I would have liked to have been at Archon this weekend, but I don't regret the way things turned out. Not at all.
