tracker7Found out more about McClatchy and the Knight-Ridder purchase at work today. McClatchy has a sterling reputation for journalism, strongly believes in taking care of employees, and prefers to let local newspapers operate as the paper sees fit - there is no cookie-cutter model for McClatchy papers to fit into.
Train geekery: This morning, when I was taking Spycat back to campus, I got a real treat. Saw what looked to be an SW-1 switcher engine in RJCorman colors - a locomotive that started coming off the assembly line in 1939! I've seen RJCC's Geeps and their big honkin' tunnel motors and even the F-units they use on the dinner trains and Kentucky Derby specials, but I had no idea that there were actual switching engines on RJCC rails down here. This may require some further investigation.
